Babcock is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Uxbridge (Ruislip area) to service, diagnose and repair specialist heavy goods vehicles on-site. You will work within a skilled team to keep vehicles compliant, safe and operational, contributing to national capability and public service.

The role offers a base salary of £42,637 with a shift allowance of £5,542.81 and a discretionary £1,200 bonus, plus overtime opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

The role

As an HGV Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring specialist heavy goods vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational. Working within a highly skilled team, you'll use your technical expertise to service, maintain, diagnose, and repair vehicles that support essential operations. Day-to-day you'll be required to:

• Diagnose faults and identifying effective repair solutions on HGV vehicles.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to keep vehicles safe and operational.
• Replace vehicle components and ordering parts when required.
• Complete maintenance documentation and service records accurately.
• Work safely while maintaining high quality workshop and compliance standards.

The role is based onsite at Ruislip, totalling 40 hours per week. In addition to a base salary of £42,637, you'll receive a shift allowance of £5,542.81, a discretionary annual bonus of £1,200, and the opportunity to earn overtime, paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Essential experience of the HGV Technician:

• Experience servicing and repairing HGV vehicles.
• Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving capability.
• Knowledge of HGV maintenance requirements and technical specifications.
• Experience working to high safety and quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively within a workshop environment.

Qualifications for the HGV Technician:

• Educated to GCSE level.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
