Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to service and repair heavy goods vehicles at our Ruislip site, near Uxbridge, Greater London. You’ll diagnose faults, perform servicing, maintain records, and ensure compliance with safety standards in a busy workshop environment.

The role requires BPSS security clearance and offers a base salary with shift allowances, discretionary bonus, and overtime opportunities in a national security-focused organisation supporting public service

Job description

As an HGV Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring specialist heavy goods vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational. Working within a highly skilled team, you'll use your technical expertise to service, maintain, diagnose, and repair vehicles that support essential operations. Day-to-day you'll be required to:

• Diagnose faults and identifying effective repair solutions on HGV vehicles.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to keep vehicles safe and operational.
• Replace vehicle components and ordering parts when required.
• Complete maintenance documentation and service records accurately.
• Work safely while maintaining high quality workshop and compliance standards.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.

The role is based onsite at Ruislip, totalling 40 hours per week. In addition to a base salary of £42,637, you'll receive a shift allowance of £5,542.81, a discretionary annual bonus of £1,200, and the opportunity to earn overtime, paid at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
