Job summary

Muller Dairy is recruiting an HGV Technician for the Market Drayton Depot to repair and maintain a modern fleet in a busy distribution operation.

The role requires City & Guilds/IMI level qualifications or equivalent practical experience, with a strong focus on safe, efficient working practices and teamwork in a 5-out-of-7 shift pattern.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience on HGVs is essential.
• Class C+E licence preferable but not essential.
• Works well independently and in a team.
• Manages deadlines and prioritises workload.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre.
• Record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out.
• Repair minor accident damage.
• Carry out fault diagnosis.
• Put safety first in all aspects of the role.

Job description:

We are currently looking to recruit for a HGV Technician to join our Transport Department at our Market Drayton Depot within our Mller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business.

This is a great opportunity for HGV Technicians looking to work for a prestigious logistics company, servicing and repairing a modern well maintained fleet of vehicles.

The purpose of this role is to Repair and Maintain our HGV Fleet to comply with legal and company standards. Candidates will be responsible for actively seeking solutions to challenges and for embracing a safe and efficient operating approach to their work.

• Location: Market DraytonDepot
• Contract:Full Time / Permanent
• Shift Patterns: 5 out of 7 days (47.5 hours per week)
• Rate of Pay:£20.84per hour
• Premiums:
  • Overtime rate - 1.125x hourly rate
  • Saturday - 1.125x hourly rate
  • Sundays and bank holidays - 1.5x hourly rate.
  • Unsociable (6pm 4am) 14.25% hourly rate

HGV Technician Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to the following):

• To inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre

HGV Technician Key Skills & Experience

• Qualifications required City & Guilds part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
• Commercial experience on HGVs is essential
• Class C+E licence preferable but not essential
• Works well both independently and in a team
• Manages deadlines well and understands how to prioritise a workload
