Job summary

Müller UK & Ireland is recruiting a HGV Technician at the Market Drayton Depot within the Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business. The role focuses on servicing and repairing a modern fleet, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.

You will inspect, diagnose and maintain vehicles, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. The package includes enhanced overtime, weekend premiums, generous holiday entitlement, pension contributions, life assurance and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds Part 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience.
• Commercial experience on HGVs is essential.
• Class C+E licence preferable but not essential.
• Works well both independently and in a team.
• Manages deadlines well and understands how to prioritise a workload.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre.
• Record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle.
• Repair minor accident damage.
• Carry out fault diagnosis.

Job description

We are currently looking to recruit for a HGV Technician to join our Transport Department at our Market Drayton Depot within our Müller Milk & Ingredients Distribution business.

This is a great opportunity for HGV Technicians looking to work for a prestigious logistics company, servicing and repairing a modern well maintained fleet of vehicles.

The purpose of this role is to Repair and Maintain our HGV Fleet to comply with legal and company standards. Candidates will be responsible for actively seeking solutions to challenges and for embracing a safe and efficient operating approach to their work.

• Location: Market DraytonDepot
• Contract:Full Time / Permanent
• Shift Patterns: 5 out of 7 days (47.5 hours per week)
• Rate of Pay:£20.84per hour

• Premiums:

  • Overtime rate - 1.125x hourly rate
  • Saturday - 1.125x hourly rate
  • Sundays and bank holidays - 1.5x hourly rate.
  • Unsociable (6pm - 4am) - 14.25% hourly rate

HGV Technician Responsibilities (will include but not be limited to the following):
