Job summary

Dennis Eagle is seeking an experienced HGV Technician in Croydon to join our Aftermarket team. You will diagnose faults, service and repair our specialist fleet and prepare vehicles for MOT inspections, ensuring safety and compliance.

This hands-on role requires a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle qualification, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting continuous improvement through training and development. We offer flexible working arrangements where possible.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Experience maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
• A proactive approach to problem solving.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role: HGV Technician

Location: Croydon, CR0 4YL

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: Up to £59,384 pa DOE

We're looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team, carrying out maintenance, servicing and repairs on our specialist fleet. This is a hands-on role where you'll use your technical expertise to diagnose faults, solve problems and deliver high-quality work that keeps vehicles safe, compliant and on the road.

What we're looking for

It would be great if you also have

• Experience working on refuse collection vehicles or similar specialist vehicles
• Experience with electric vehicles
• IRTEC accreditation or manufacturer training
• HGV Class 2 licence
• Experience using workshop management systems
