Job summary

Dennis Eagle UK is recruiting an HGV Technician in Tower Hamlets for a fast-paced aftermarket role. You will maintain and repair refuse collection vehicles, ensuring safety, compliance and high customer satisfaction.

The role requires diagnosing faults, servicing to MOT standards and accurate record-keeping. The ideal candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance, with proven experience in commercial vehicle repair.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance or equivalent.
• Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment.
• Service vehicles to standards and prepare them for MOT inspections.
• Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure DOT compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and enter job details into systems.
• Liaise with customers and work independently at customer sites.
• Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments.

Job description

Role: HGV Technician

Location: Tower Hamlets,E14 0JJ

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:00 and 15:30 Monday to Friday

Salary: Between £41,277.60 - £48,929.40 pa DOE

Are you a skilled technician with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a commitment to high standards? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HGV Technician to join our Aftermarket team!

This hands-on role involves maintaining and repairing refuse collection vehicles to the highest standards, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on chassis and mounted equipment
• Service vehicles to VOSA standards and prepare them for MOT inspections
• Complete body and chassis repairs and ensure compliance with Department of Transport specifications
• Maintain accurate records and enter job details into company systems
• Liaise professionally with customers and work independently at customer sites
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently and to company standards
• Follow health and safety procedures and conduct risk assessments where required
• Undertake training to enhance technical skills and knowledge

Ideal Candidate

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance
• Proven experience in commercial vehicle repair and servicing
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Understanding of electronics, hydraulics, and wiring diagrams
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including overtime
• Experience with electric vehicles, IRTEC qualification, or HGV Class 2 licence is a bonus
