ISQ Recruitment Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician/Mechanic in Dagenham, East London, to service and repair HGVs and trailers. You will access ongoing technical training and mentoring within an experienced workshop team, with a structured 4-on, 4-off shift pattern and day or night options.

The role emphasizes diagnostics, preventive maintenance and safe vehicle operations, with opportunities to develop careers in a well-established CV maintenance business.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI.
• Experience as an HGV Technician/Mechanic or CV Technician.
• Strong diagnostic, servicing and mechanical repair skills.
• Good understanding of vehicle safety and inspection standards.

Responsabilités

• Carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
• Identify worn or defective components and carry out repairs in line with DVSA standards.
• Plan repairs with workshop colleagues to minimise downtime.
• Complete inspection sheets, repair records and warranty documentation.

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic - Days or Nights

Location: Dagenham, East London

Salary: Up to £54,600 per annum, plus overtime

Hours: 4 on, 4 off - day or night shifts available

ISQ Recruitment is seeking an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance business in Dagenham.

With four days off between shift blocks, day or night shift opportunities and continued investment in your technical skills, this role offers varied workshop work within an experienced, supportive team.

The Role

You will carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on HGVs and trailers, helping keep commercial fleets safe, compliant and operational. You will also have access to technical training, mentoring and opportunities to develop your career.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete routine servicing, preventative maintenance and inspections on HGVs and trailers.
• Diagnose faults and carry out minor and major mechanical repairs.
• Identify worn or defective components in line with DVSA inspection standards.
• Work with workshop colleagues to plan repairs and minimise vehicle downtime.
• Complete accurate inspection sheets, repair records and warranty documentation.
• Provide roadside repair support when required.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What We're Looking For

• A Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI.
• Experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Strong diagnostic, servicing and mechanical repair skills.
• A good understanding of vehicle safety and inspection standards.
• A full driving licence valid in the UK for the relevant vehicle classes.
• A reliable approach, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and within a team.
