Job summary

Estella Group Limited is hiring an experienced HGV Technician for our depot in Luton. You will perform planned inspections, servicing and repairs on a range of vehicles and trailers, diagnose faults, and prepare vehicles for MOT while upholding health and safety standards.

You will work as part of a team, maintain current vehicle knowledge, and engage in training. A technical qualification or proven experience is required, plus a valid driving license.

• Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
• Able to work as part of a team with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection, service, maintenance and repair of vehicles and trailers.

• Carry out MOT preparation and ensure safety and site rules.
• Maintain product knowledge and attend training as required.
• Coordinate with parts suppliers to obtain required components.

HGV Technician opportunity

My client a well-established and rapidly expanding fleet maintenance company with depots across the UK and are actively seeking to employ an experienced and qualified HGV Technician for their site in Luton

What you’ll do in the position

• Carry out planned inspection, service, maintenance and repair of all types of vehicles and trailers in line with current regulatory guidance.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Possess a working knowledge of fault diagnostic equipment.
• MOT preparation.
• Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises.
• Liaise with parts suppliers to attain parts.
• Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
• Conform to all customer site requirements & regulations.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
• Maintain thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses.

What you’ll need

• Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 qualified technician) or proven experience repairing & maintaining vehicles.
• Valid Driving License.
• Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Actively seek solutions to problems.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
• Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Flexible in hours and approach.
