Job summary

Kemp Recruitment is seeking two experienced HGV Technicians to join a well-established transport company at the Derbyshire depot. You will repair and maintain a mixed fleet of vehicles, carrying out MOT preparation and routine safety inspections.

The role offers daytime shifts, overtime at 1.5x, a salary of £45,000 with OTE up to £56,000, and a generous benefits package including 33 days holiday, pension, private healthcare and life cover.

Qualifications

• Industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or time served.
• Experience as an HGV Mechanic with modern commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical and cosmetic repairs; MOT preparation and testing.
• Maintenance per manufacturer instructions and service schedule.
• Visual inspections, adjustments, fluid changes and parts replacement.
• Repairing and servicing vehicles in the workshop.
• Diagnosing faults with diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out warranty repairs per manufacturers' guidelines.
• Occasional work on vans, predominately HGVs.

HGV Technician opportunity

My client, a well-established transport company in Derbyshire is actively seeing to employ 2 experienced HGV Technicians to be based out of a depot in the Derbyshire area to work on a full time basis. You will carry out repair and maintenance work on both an internal fleet of vehicles and customer vehicles. Overtime available and paid at 1.5X

HGV Technician duties

• Mechanical repairs, cosmetic repairs, preparation of vehicles for MOT testing and taking vehicles to MOT, as well as routine 6 weekly safety inspections and services.
• Performance of all maintenance services according to the manufacturer's instructions and according to the maintenance schedule/Service processor.
• All visual inspections, adjustment operations, adjustments, operating fluid changes and additions, replacement of worn equipment (e.g., brake linings).
• Responsible for repairing and servicing of vehicles booked into the workshop.
• Diagnosing faults on vehicles using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Carrying out warranty repairs to manufacturers guidelines.
• Stripping fitting and replacing components on vehicles.
• Predominately working on HGV’s but on occasion some vans

HGV Technician experience / qualifications required

• In order to qualify for the role, the successful HGV Mechanic will have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) or be time served
• You must have detailed experience as an HGV Mechanic and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles.
