A leading company in the automotive industry is seeking an experienced HGV/LGV Mechanic to perform maintenance and diagnostics on heavy vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering, and a Class 1 Licence. This role involves collaboration with Workshop and Transport Managers, and the ability to provide out-of-hours support when required. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on HGVs/LGVs.
Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
Accurately document repairs and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Collaborate closely with the Workshop and Transport Managers.
Provide out-of-hours support when required.
City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
Strong diagnostic skills with experience in MOT preparation and defect reporting.
Class 1 Licence.
Excellent communication skills and a calm, proactive approach.
Overtime and paid callouts.
28-30 days holiday (incl. bank holidays).
Company-provided overalls.
Applicants must pass a 5-year background check and Right to Work verification. Shifts span Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday, with 9-hour shift options.
