Job summary

CD Auto Engineering Recruitment Ltd in East London is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service, diagnose and repair heavy vehicles Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30, with a strong basic salary and potential bonus.

You will join an established workshop team, working to DVSA standards and maintaining vehicle uptime, with relevant NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualifications and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.
• Good knowledge of DVSA inspection and maintenance standards.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Completing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
• Identifying and replacing worn or defective components.
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections.
• Completing workshop documentation accurately.
• Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA and company maintenance standards.
• Supporting vehicle availability and minimising downtime.
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workmanship.

Job Description

Looking for an HGV Technician role offering a strong basic salary, Monday-to-Friday hours and additional earning potential through bonus?

We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established commercial vehicle operation in East London.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles while working as part of an experienced workshop team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs
• Completing scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
• Identifying and replacing worn or defective components
• Preparing vehicles for MOT and statutory inspections
• Completing workshop documentation accurately
• Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA and company maintenance standards
• Supporting vehicle availability and minimising downtime
• Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and workmanship
