Job summary

Work Lyf Group is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established client in Stoke-on-Trent. You will carry out routine safety inspections, pre-MOT prep and repairs, and diagnose faults to high standards.

This full-time role offers £40k-£45k, overtime during busy periods, a supportive family-run environment, and opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience working with HGVs.
• Strong understanding of health & safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• C+E licence preferred but not essential.
• Welding/fabrication experience beneficial but not required.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine safety inspections on HGVs.
• Complete pre‑MOT preparation and rectify defects.
• Perform emergency and breakdown repairs as required.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Work flexibly and remain calm under pressure, including occasional overtime during busy periods.
• Undertake welding and fabrication tasks (desirable but not essential).
• Maintain compliance with DVSA standards and company maintenance procedures.
• Keep the workshop and work areas clean, tidy, and safe.
• Accurately complete job cards and all associated paperwork.
• Follow all company rules, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
