HGV Technician – Avonmouth

Are you an experienced HGV Technician ready for your next challenge? We’re expanding our busy Avonmouth Depot and are looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Technician to join our team full-time.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of in-house fleet repairs, work with a supportive team, and develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

What We Offer:

Competitive Pay:

• £19.28 per hour
• Overtime after 47.5 hours:£24.10 per hour
• Enhanced Weekend Rates:
• Saturday: £24.10 per hour
• Sunday: £28.92 per hour

Flexible Shift Pattern:

• 5 shifts out of 7 (weekdays and weekends)
• Flexibility required

Your Role:

• Inspect and maintain our HGV fleet to meet both legal and company standards
• Prepare vehicles for MOT and handle transport to the Test Centre
• Record defects and maintain accurate service records
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including minor accident damage
• Work with a range of vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment
• Deliver high standards of customer service and collaborate effectively with the wider team

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in a similar role (essential)
Hands-on commercial HGV experience
A can-do attitude and ability to work independently
Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
Attention to detail with excellent record-keeping
No more than 6 minor points on your license (no CDs, DDs, DRs, or INs)

Qualifications:

• City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in Motor Vehicle Management
• Or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
