Job description

We currently have a full time vacancy for a Workshop Technician, based in our busy Amesbury Depot.

The successful candidate will support expansion of workshops and manage fleet repairs in house.

Pay Rates:

• £19.28 per hour
• Over time rates after 47.5 hours per week of (£24.10) and enhanced rates on Saturday (£24.10) and Sunday (£28.92)

Shift Patterns:

• Any 5 shifts out of 7, flexibility required for all weekdays and weekend days.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet to comply with legal and company standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centre.
• Record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle.
• Carry out fault diagnosis.
• Actively seek solutions to problems.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Work with vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment.
• Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Work well both independently and in a team.
• Manage deadlines well and understand how to prioritise a workload.
• Be a positive thinking and self-motivated individual.
• Be an effective team member who works well on their own initiative.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate an excellent attitude to work.
• No more than 6 minor points on driving license (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs).

Qualifications:

• Commercial experience on HGVs is essential.
• City & Guilds part 1, 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry.
