Job summary

NMS Recruit is recruiting for an HGV Technician in Bracknell. You will perform servicing, inspections and repairs to keep the fleet safe and compliant, minimising downtime.

Key duties include diagnosing faults, completing maintenance records, and working with a team to ensure workshop efficiency. A Class 2 licence is advantageous; DBS check may apply.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience maintaining and repairing HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Attention to detail and practical, proactive approach.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Valid Class 2 / Category C HGV licence - advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs and articulated vehicles.
• Completing repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard.
• Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA requirements and workshop safety standards.
• Accurately completing job cards, inspection reports and maintenance records.

The Role

You’ll help keep the fleet safe, compliant and ready for service, delivering high standards of maintenance and repair while minimising vehicle downtime.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults on HGV's and articulated vehicles.
• Completing repairs and preventative maintenance to a high standard.
• Ensuring vehicles meet DVSA requirements and workshop safety standards.
• Accurately completing job cards, inspection reports and maintenance records.
• Working closely with fellow technicians to keep the workshop running efficiently.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• An NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGVs or commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• A practical approach, a positive attitude and excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and contribute to a team.
• A valid Class 2 / Category C HGV driving licence - Advantageous

A Basic DBS check will form part of the recruitment process.

Overtime: Paid at time and a half

Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am3:30pm

Contract: Full-time, permanent
