Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their team in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, performing repairs, and providing customer service. Ideal candidates should have strong knowledge of HGV systems and experience using power tools safely.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of diesel/petrol powered plant.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in heavy vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on HGVs to identify issues.
  • Assemble and disassemble vehicle components as necessary.
  • Perform equipment repairs, including welding and soldering tasks.
  • Utilise power tools and machinery safely to carry out repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients.

HGV Technician

Location : Glasgow

Shift : Monday to Friday 7 : 30 AM -4.30PM

Salary : Up to £19.50 per hour / £40,560 per year

My client is seeking a suitably experienced HGV Technician to join their team based in Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring they are safe and roadworthy. This role requires a strong understanding of HGV mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to communicate with colleagues.

About the HGV Technician Role
