Job summary

Kemp Recruitment is looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join a depot in the Frome area on a permanent, full-time basis. The role offers a dayshift pattern, with overtime paid at 1.5x and a clear pathway for progression.

The successful candidate will perform servicing, diagnostics and repairs on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles, with manufacturer training and a stable 40-hour week, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Industry-recognised vocational qualifications in heavies (NVQ or City & Guilds).
• Proven hands-on experience as an HGV technician in a workshop.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles.
• Work in a well-equipped workshop handling both internal and third-party vehicles.

HGV Technician opportunity

My client, a well-established fleet maintenance company is actively seeing to employ an experienced and qualified HGV Technician to be based out of a depot in the Frome area to work on a full-time permanent basis. Excellent ongoing training and career progression opportunities into a supervisor for those that want it as company are expanding. All overtime paid at 1.5 X, 40 hr working week Monday to Friday with no weekends.

HGV Technician duties

• Working in a purpose built, well equipped workshop, the successful HGV Mechanic will be required to undertake all aspects of vehicle service, maintenance and repair on an internal fleet of vehicles as well as third party vehicles
• You will be working on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles to include tractor units, rigid commercial vehicles and some trailers

HGV Technician qualifications / Experience required

• In order to qualify for the role, the successful Technician will ideally have industry recognised qualifications (NVQ or City & Guilds) in heavies or be time served
• You must have detailed experience as an HGV Technician and be familiar with modern commercial vehicles
• Hold a full UK driving Licence
