Job summary

Lanes Group is hiring an HGV Tanker Driver (Days) for its waste water contract. You will drive vacuum tankers, deliver non-hazardous liquids to disposal facilities, and follow the Operations Supervisor’s assigned jobs.

You must hold a full HGV Class 1 or 2 licence with CPC and a valid digi tachograph card. 4 days on, 4 days off, 6am–6pm, 40.25 hours on average. Location: Goddards Green, Hassocks area.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence with up-to-date CPC and tachograph card.
• Minimum 2 years experience driving Class 1 or 2 vehicles.
• HGV tanker experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV-mounted vacuum tankers for drainage and waste management.
• Independently manage sites, ensuring safe practices and quality work.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Accurately complete job reports and system updates.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance; report faults promptly.
• Maintain high health and safety standards and PPE compliance.

HGV Tanker - Days

About The Role

We are looking for HGV Class 1 or Class 2 drivers to work on a full time basis for days on our waste water contract.

Driving a vacuum tanker, the work incorporates tankering various non-hazardous liquids from sites to disposal facilities across the regions. You will be provided with a phone and an app to outline the jobs that have been assigned to you by the Operations Supervisor.

Due to the nature of the role, a full HGV Class 1 or Class 2 UK drivers licence is required, along with CPC and have up to date digi tachograph card.

Salary: £16.00 per hour

Hours: 4 days on 4 days off, 6am - 6pm, 40.25 hours averaged over an 8 week period

Location: Goddards Green

Holidays: 21 days including bank holidays

As a HGV Tanker Engineer, you will:

• Operate HGV-mounted vacuum and tankers for drainage and waste management tasks.
• Independently manage job sites, ensuring safe practices and high-quality work.
• Communicate professionally with customers.
• Accurately complete job reports and system updates.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance, reporting any faults promptly.
• Maintain high health and safety standards, including proper PPE use and regulatory compliance

Experience And Qualifications Required For The Role

• HGV class 1 or class 2 driving licence
• Valid in date CPC and up to date taco
• Minimum 2 years class 1 or class 2 experience
