Job summary

Metro Rod West Birmingham is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Class 2 to operate a FlexLine/CityFlex tanker, carrying out planned maintenance and occasional emergency drainage work.

You will need a minimum of 3 years’ tanker driving experience, a full UK driving licence and HGV Class 2 licence; there is overtime and a clear training path. Role is 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday, on-site in Birmingham.

£34,500 + Overtime & Benefits
8am – 5pm Monday to Friday

What’s involved?

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tanker operator to develop specialist skills within the drainage industry.

Operating a FlexLine/CityFlex tanker, you’ll enjoy a varied, hands-on role carrying out planned maintenance and occasional emergency work, including drainage cleaning, clearance, repair and maintenance.

Drainage tanker or CityFlex experience would be a real advantage, but it isn’t essential. If you have solid experience operating other tanker vehicles and are keen to learn, we’ll provide the training and support you need to develop your drainage expertise.

The Person…

• An experienced HGV Driver Class 2 and with sector experience in drainage – preferable
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience driving a tanker - essential
• Strong communication skills
• IT Literacy including smart phone technology
• CSCS, HPWJ, Confined Spaces and associated cards (preferred)
• A positive, flexible, can-do attitude

• Be willing to work occasional/unsociable hours, weekends/nights
• Hold a full UK driving licence
• HGV Class 2 driving license
