Job summary

iRecruit4 is seeking an experienced HGV Shunter Driver for a busy site-based operation in the United Kingdom. You will shunt HGVs around the yard, assist with loading for dispatch and support the warehouse team in daily duties. This hands-on role requires physical work and reliable attendance.

The position offers night shifts with a Sunday day shift and a pathway from temporary to permanent employment, with consistent hours in a team-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Previous HGV driving or shunting experience.
• A valid HGV licence.
• Confident manoeuvring large vehicles in a busy yard environment.
• Must be physically fit and willing to assist with loading lorries and warehouse duties.
• Reliable with excellent timekeeping.
• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Able to commit to the advertised night shifts and Sunday day shift.

Responsibilities

• Safely manoeuvring HGVs around the yard and loading areas.
• Positioning vehicles ready for loading and unloading.
• Working alongside the warehouse team to physically load lorries.
• Ensuring vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently, ready for dispatch.
• Carrying out basic vehicle safety checks.
• Following all site health and safety procedures.
• Assisting with general warehouse duties when required.

HGV Shunter Driver

iRecruit4 are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Shunter Driver to join our client's busy operation on a temporary to permanent basis. This is an ideal opportunity for an HGV driver who no longer wants to spend all night out on the road and would prefer a site-based position. The successful candidate will be responsible for shunting HGVs around the yard and supporting the warehouse team with loading vehicles ready for dispatch. This is a hands-on position, so applicants must be comfortable undertaking physical work as part of their daily duties.

Hours, Pay & Benefits for HGV Shunter

PAY: £34,580 SalaryMonday to Thursday: 8pm to 6am (night shifts). Sunday : 6am to 4pm (day shift). Guaranteed 10 hours' pay per shift. Temporary to permanent opportunity. Consistent working hours.
