Job summary

Bamford Contract Services Ltd, on behalf of Rochdale Council, is seeking Refuse Truck Driver to join the Waste Services team in Rochdale. Immediate starts, ongoing temporary work, and PAYE employment are available.

You will drive an HGV refuse vehicle, work with loaders, and collect household/public waste across Rochdale in a customer-facing role. Training and support are provided for those with relevant experience.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 / Category C licence required.
• Valid and in-date Driver CPC.
• Previous HGV driving experience and driving larger vehicles.
• Confident working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Minimum age 21 with up to 6 penalty points and no DR10/IN10.
• Reliable, punctual and customer-focused with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate HGV refuse collection vehicles.
• Work as part of a three-person waste collection crew.
• Collect household and public waste.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Use in-cab technology and assist loaders when required.
• Provide professional customer service on public routes.
