Job summary

CV Technical in Hereford is seeking an experienced HGV/Plant Fitter to join our busy engineering and maintenance team. The role focuses on servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a wide range of vehicles and plant equipment to keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently.

You will work with machinery including telehandlers, forklifts, excavators, dumpers, diggers, tractors and HGVs. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical experience with heavy plant and agricultural machinery and

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on HGVs and plant

• Maintain service and repair records
• Ensure machinery is maintained to a high standard

HGV / Plant Fitter

Location: Hereford

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Shift: Days

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV / Plant Fitter to join a busy engineering and maintenance team in Hereford.

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone with strong mechanical experience across HGVs, heavy plant, agricultural machinery and mobile equipment.

The Role

You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection and repair of a wide range of vehicles and plant equipment, helping to keep the fleet operating safely and efficiently.

The role will involve working with machinery including:

• Telehandlers
• Forklifts
• Excavators
• Dumpers
• Diggers
• Tractors
• HGVs
• Other heavy plant and agricultural machinery

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on HGVs and plant
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults
• Complete servicing and preventative maintenance
• Fault-find and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Attend to breakdowns and carry out repairs
• Complete routine inspections and maintenance checks
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Ensure all machinery is maintained to a high standard
• Follow all relevant health & safety procedures

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Plant Fitter, HGV Technician, Agricultural Engineer, Heavy Vehicle Technician or similar.

• Strong mechanical maintenance and repair experience
• Experience working on heavy plant, HGVs or agricultural machinery
• Good knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• A practical, hands-on approach
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Relevant qualifications are desirable but strong practical experience will also be considered.
