Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd supports a long-established industrial business in North Bristol to recruit an experienced Plant Fitter on a 12-week rotating shift pattern. The role involves servicing, maintenance and repairs across mobile plant including forklifts, loading shovels and vehicles.

You will perform mechanical fault-finding on hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical systems, with duties including documentation and collaboration with operations to maximise uptime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or recognised apprenticeship in Plant, Vehicle or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience maintaining mobile plant, forklift trucks, commercial vehicles, HGVs, agricultural or construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of hydraulics, diesel engines and vehicle electrical systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Flexible approach to shift working.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on mobile plant.
• Perform fault finding and repairs on hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical systems.
• Complete maintenance documentation and liaise with operations to maximise equipment availability.

We're supporting a long-established industrial business operating within a large-scale, safety-critical environment. Due to continued investment and several recent vacancies within the engineering team, they're looking to recruit experienced Plant Fitters to maintain a diverse fleet of mobile plant.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you'll carry out planned servicing, preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs across a wide range of mobile plant.

Typical equipment includes:

• Forklift trucks
• Loading shovels
• Commercial vehicles and various mobile plant.

The role involves mechanical fault finding, servicing and repairs on hydraulics, diesel engines and vehicle electrical systems, ensuring equipment is maintained safely and reliably to support operations. You'll also complete maintenance documentation and work closely with operations to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.

Working Pattern

This role operates on a 12-week rotating shift pattern consisting of:

• 9-week shift rotation (changing weekly):
  • 06:00-14:00
  • 14:00-22:00
  • 22:00-06:00
• Followed by:
  • 3 weeks: 07:00-15:00
  • Paid overtime available

What They're Looking For
