Job summary

Carnell Support Services is seeking an experienced HGV Operative to support highways and infrastructure projects across the UK. You will transport plant, materials and equipment, work with site teams to ensure timely delivery, and uphold safety standards on every job.

The role requires a Class 1 HGV licence, Driver CPC, CSCS Labourer Card, and willingness to travel and stay away from home as needed. Travel, nights away and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 Licence and Driver CPC required.
• CSCS Labourer Card may be required on site.
• Experience operating HGV vehicles in construction/highways/civil engineering preferred.
• Willingness to travel and stay away from home when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of highways and infrastructure projects across the UK.
• Transport plant, materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with on-site colleagues to support project delivery.
• Carry out vehicle checks and keep accurate records.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting the delivery of highways and infrastructure projects across the UK
• Transporting plant, materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Working closely with colleagues on site to support project deliveryCarrying out vehicle checks and maintaining accurate records
• Following health, safety and environmental procedures
• Helping maintain high standards of safety and quality on site

We're looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, supports their team and takes pride in a job well done, alongside:

• HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence
• Driver CPC qualification
• CSCS Labourer Card
• Experience operating HGV vehicles within construction, highways or civil engineering
• A good understanding of vehicle safety and compliance requirements
• Highways or National Highways experience
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required
