Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a dedicated HGV Operative to oversee HGV/Plant machinery at our Milnthorpe site in Cumbria. You will ensure safety, regulatory compliance and efficient operation for overhead lines and substation activities.

Ideal candidates have previous HGV/Plant Operator experience, a valid UK driving license, and DBS clearance. DBS checked personnel and ongoing training opportunities are available as part of our commitment to a diverse and capable workforce.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a HGV/Plant Operator in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of plant machinery and HGV equipment.
• DBS clearance or willingness to undergo DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
• HGV/Plant operations must be site- and highway-compliant with proper accountability reporting.
• Monitor service and inspection regimes and coordinate with team to ensure required works.

About the role…

We require a HGV Operative that has worked within the Power / Utilities / or Construction Industry. You will be responsible for overseeing and controlling HGV / Plant machinery associated equipment used in association of Overhead Lines and substation activities. This role ensures that operations conform to all Safety standards and Laws, including relevant client Network requirements and Practices.

As a HGV Plant Operator you will…?

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
• HGV / Plant are both Law, Site & Highway Compliant, and be compliant in Operations of accountability to report any malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Monitor Service and Inspection Regimes and Times and collaborate with other team members to ensure the functionality of the works required

About you…

• Previous experience as a HGV / Plant Operator in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of plant machinery and HGV vehicles and equipment.
• Valid UK Driving License
• Appropriate certification to operate heavy machinery and equipment with technical certification e.g. Level 2 NVQ would be advantageous.
• DBS Required
