Job summary

Ipsum is seeking a HGV Plant Operator in Milnthorpe Cumbria. You will oversee and control HGV and plant machinery used in overhead lines and substation activities, ensuring safety standards and client requirements are met.

This role emphasizes compliance, accountability, and timely reporting of issues. Ideal candidates have prior HGV/Plant experience, a valid UK driving licence, and relevant certification; DBS clearance is also required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a HGV/Plant Operator in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of plant machinery and HGV equipment.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Appropriate certification to operate heavy machinery (e.g. Level 2 NVQ) advantageous.
• DBS Required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
• HGV/Plant are compliant with site, highway and client requirements and report malfunctions or hazards to the supervisor.
• Monitor service and inspection regimes and times, coordinating with the team to ensure work activities run smoothly.

About The Role…

We require a HGV Operative that has worked within the Power / Utilities / or Construction Industry. You will be responsible for overseeing and controlling HGV / Plant machinery associated equipment used in association of Overhead Lines and substation activities. This role ensures that operations conform to all Safety standards and Laws, including relevant client Network requirements and Practices.

As a HGV Plant Operator you will…

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
• HGV / Plant are both Law, Site & Highway Compliant, and be compliant in Operations of accountability to report any malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
• Monitor Service and Inspection Regimes and Times and collaborate with other team members to ensure the functionality of the works required

About You…

• Previous experience as a HGV / Plant Operator in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of plant machinery and HGV vehicles and equipment.
• Valid UK Driving License
• Appropriate certification to operate heavy machinery and equipment with technical certification e.g. Level 2 NVQ would be advantageous.
• DBS Required
