Job summary

Collard Group Ltd in the South of England is seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic for a Twilight shift to maintain our fleet and ensure MOT readiness. You will perform repairs, servicing and fault diagnosis to high standards, while adhering to manufacturer procedures and VOSA requirements.

The role requires an apprenticeship in motor vehicle or plant engineering, a Full UK Driving Licence, ability to travel between sites (Reading & Chilton) and strong teamwork and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• Recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle or plant engineering
• Proficient with pneumatic braking systems and electrical repairs
• Able to inspect a vehicle to MOT standards
• Able to plan and implement maintenance schedules
• Willing to travel between sites (Reading & Chilton)
• Full UK Driving Licence

Responsibilities

• Ensure vehicle repairs, inspections and servicing are carried out according to manufacturer procedures and VOSA requirements in a safe and cost effective manner
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process
• Ensure vehicles are presented for MOT test and we maintain a 98% pass rate
• Ensure that the company time recording procedures are complied with and that job cards are completed accurately
