Job summary

Gist is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join our night-shift engineering team at Bristol, working any 5 over 7. You will service, diagnose and repair HGVs to the highest standards, following manufacturer guidance and keeping accurate maintenance records.

The ideal candidate holds an NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, has hands-on diagnostic skills, and a passion for logistics. Class 1 licence is desirable and support can be provided to achieve it.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is required.
• Proven HGV technician or mechanical experience.
• Skilled in diagnostic tools and fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining HGVs to meet safety and performance standards.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults.
• Handling breakdowns and reactive maintenance with first-time fixes.
• Following manufacturer guidelines to keep fleet roadworthy and efficient.
• Keeping accurate records of work completed.
• Support the wider engineering team with additional tasks.
