Job summary

GoodPeople is recruiting an experienced HGV Mechanic in Leeds to maintain and repair a large commercial fleet. This hands-on workshop role involves inspections, repairs, MOT preparation and ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and available for operation.

The role suits someone with strong HGV workshop experience, a full UK driving licence, and own tools, who works well independently or in a team, with an 4-on, 4-off pattern and on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Previous HGV workshop experience required.
• Ability to inspect, maintain and repair HGV vehicles to a high standard.
• A practical and safety-focused approach to maintenance and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Carry out six-weekly inspections.
• Prepare vehicles for MOTs.
• Complete vehicle repairs and planned maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and paperwork.
• Report faults to Workshop Foreman or Supervisor.
