HGV Technician

Shift: Monday to Friday Days

Hours: 45-hour working week

Location: Preston

Salary: £20 per hour + Overtime - £46,800 basic

My client is a renowned Logistics company that has been established for nearly 70 years. They have several depots across the UK and, due to their outstanding work, are now looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a varied commercial vehicle fleet.

About your new HGV Technician role

• Work in a team of highly skilled and experienced HGV Technicians on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles.
• Undertake all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Perform vehicle inspections.
• Conduct general servicing and pre-planned maintenance.
• Carry out reactive maintenance as required.
• Prepare and present vehicles for MOT.
• Correct running defects.

What the successful HGV Technician will have

• In-depth knowledge of HGVs and trailers.
• HGV licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential).
• Industry recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance, and repair.
