HGV Technician

Shift: Monday to Friday Days

Hours: 45-hour working week

Location: Preston

Salary: £20 per hour + Overtime, with a basic of #,800

About the Role

Our client is a renowned logistics company with nearly 70 years of established presence. They operate multiple depots across the UK and are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will work on a diverse commercial vehicle fleet.

Your Responsibilities

1. Work within a team of highly skilled HGV Technicians on a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles.
2. Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs.
3. Conduct vehicle inspections.
4. Carry out general servicing and pre-planned maintenance.
5. Respond to reactive maintenance needs.
6. Prepare vehicles for MOT and presentation.
7. Correct running defects.

Candidate Requirements

1. In-depth knowledge of HGVs and trailers.
2. HGV Licence Class 1 (desirable but not essential).
3. Industry-recognized qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle service, maintenance, and repair.
