Job summary

Hunter Selection are recruiting an experienced HGV Mechanic for a major food manufacturer in North East London (E10). The role involves maintaining and servicing the fleet, with a 4on 4off day shift (6am-6pm) and a salary of £52,500 plus overtime.

You will work on DAF & IVECO trucks, ensure DVSA MOT readiness, and contribute to a safety-focused, collaborative team. Benefits include pension, life assurance and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience on commercial/HGV fleet required.
• Must have UK Driving Licence.
• DVSA MOT knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and servicing of the HGV & LGV vehicles in the fleet.
• Carry out maintenance on DAF & IVECO trucks.
• Work on engine mechanics, vehicle electrics, hydraulics, gearboxes.
• Minor maintenance & repairs of forklift trucks.
• Ensure that all vehicles are inspected and meet DVSA MOT requirements.
• Working on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Complete all service schedule paperwork.

North East London (E10)

£52,500 + Overtime

4on 4off 3on 3off - Days (6am-6pm)

Do you want to work for a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is their biggest factory employing over 500 people. They are looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to service and repair their vehicle fleet.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and servicing of the HGV & LGV vehicles in the fleet
• Carry out maintenance work on a mixed fleet of DAF & IVECO trucks
• Working on engine mechanics, vehicle electrics, hydraulics, gearboxes
• Minor maintenance & repairs of forklift trucks
• Ensure that all vehicles are inspected and meet DVSA MOT requirements
• Working on own initiative and as part of a team
• Complete all service schedule paperwork

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience of working on commercial vehicles & HGV fleet
• Experience working on trucks, tractor engines, trailers within a fleet maintenance operationNVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or similar)
• Beneficial if hold a Class 1 or 2 driving licence
• Must have UK Driving Licence
• Good knowledge of vehicle electrics for fault diagnostics
• Excellent communication skills
• Previously worked with hydraulics & gearboxes
• Any experience of servicing & maintaining forklifts would be beneficial
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
