HGV Mechanic Position - Falkirk

First Achieve's Engineering Division is hiring for an HGV Mechanic in the Falkirk region for their client, a construction and engineering specialist.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, Dayshift role. Additionally, Saturday mornings may be required, paid at x1.5.

Salary: Up to £40k (Dependent on Experience), with OTE circa £45-55k.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct four-weekly vehicle inspections
• Prepare vehicles for MOTs
• Perform servicing and repairs in line with VOSA standards
• Respond to roadside breakdowns as needed
• Diagnose vehicle faults manually or with software/digital tools
• Prepare cost and time estimates
• Repair and replace faulty parts
• Refer complex repairs to specialists
• Maintain parts inventory with the Stores team

Schedule:

• Monday to Saturday, with four hours on Saturday paid as overtime
• Early finish on Friday afternoons
• Standby on rotation (one week in four), with standby allowance
• Potential for additional overtime
