Job summary

Merchants Transport Limited is seeking a permanent HGV/LGV Class 2 driver with HIAB to join our UK-wide delivery network. The role runs Monday to Friday, with 45–50 hours per week, delivering to merchants, building sites and various customer locations.

A 16 £/hour rate applies, with 28 days holiday, pension contributions and CPC training provided. Applicants should be aged 25+, hold a Class 2 licence with HIAB, a valid digital tachograph and CPC, and have at least two years of LGV experience

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid HGV/LGV Class 2 (C) licence with HIAB crane.
• Two years LGV driving experience preferred; clean licence (max 6 points).
• CPC qualification and valid digital tachograph card required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver to merchants, building sites, and customer locations across the UK.
• Operate vehicle mounted crane (HIAB) and secure loads using chains, slings, and straps.
• Adhere to safety procedures and UK road network requirements.

Job description

At Merchants Transport Limited we have an excellent permanent opportunity available for a HGV / LGV Class 2 Driver with vehicle mounted crane (HIAB) licence to join our expanding haulage business.

We are currently seeking a Heavy Goods Vehicle HGV / Large Goods Vehicle LGV Driver Class 2 / Class C driver with vehicle mounted crane (HIAB) licence to join our Monday to Friday operation, delivering into merchants, building sites and various other customer locations.

We are based in Stoney Stanton, Leicestershire and deliver to and collect from customers throughout the UK. Start and finish times are dependent on planned deliveries for the day, but the general hours of work are 45 - 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is required, as no two days are ever the same.

Rates of pay are competitive, with an hourly rate of £16.00 p/hour for a Class 2 driver with a HIAB licence.

Experience / Skills Required:

• Flat bed work;
• Physical strength and fitness and be capable of the manual elements of the role - crane has hook attachment and requires the use of chains / slings / trays. Using straps and ratchets for securing loads;
• Delivering to building & construction sites and house developments (good knowledge of UK road network);
• Ability to use initiative, apply common sense and work in the safest manner at all times.
• C entitlement on licence;
• Valid Digital tacho & CPC Card;
• For insurance purposes, candidates must be at least 25 years of age and have two years' experience driving an LGV, and have no more than 6 points on licence (exclusions apply, such as BA, CD, DD, DR, DG offences).
