Job summary

Veolia Environmental Services (Uk) Plc in Birkenhead is seeking a Transport Supervisor to support vehicle and driver allocation, optimise operations and ensure efficient service delivery across the contract.

You will contribute to continuous improvement through reviewing driver performance, completing driving assessments, and coordinating breakdowns, with opportunities for training and career development while upholding high health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• IOSH Managing Safely required.
• Level 3 Team Leadership or equivalent experience.
• HGV Class 2 Licence (Class 1 Licence desirable).
• Up-to-date CPC and Digi/Tachograph card.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the transport supervisor in allocating vehicles and drivers through planning and absence controls.
• Control operations by strategically deploying vehicles to maximise efficiency across the contract.
• Collaborate with colleagues, internal and external customers, and third parties to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Provide hands-on IT support to your team; drive continuous improvement by assessing driver performance and identifying learning opportunities.
• Complete driving assessments.
• Coordinate breakdown and recovery services.
• Drive and operate rigid and, when required, articulated vehicles (subject to licence) to transport waste and recycling materials.
• Complete paper and digital records of work activity.

Education

IOSH Managing Safely

Level 3 Team Leadership or equivalent experience

HGV Class 2 Licence (Class 1 desirable)

CPC and Digi/Tachograph card (up to date)
