Job summary

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to inspect, maintain and repair vehicles, plant and equipment across fleet workshops and depots. The role requires initiative and clear communication with management and customers.

Candidates should hold City and Guilds Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance (9302) or equivalent, a Full UK Driving Licence, and preferably a Category C (HGV) licence; PVG scheme considerations apply for eligible roles. Salary is under review.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds Heavy vehicle service and maintenance (9302) or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering.
• Full Current UK Driving Licence.
• Preferably Hold a Category C (HGV) Licence.

Responsibilities

• The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintaining and repairs on vehicles, plant and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops and depots.
• Ability to work on own initiative and to communicate effectively with Management team and customers.

Education

City and Guilds Heavy vehicle service and maintenance (9302) or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering

Full Current UK Driving Licence

Category C (HGV) Licence (preferable)
