Job summary

Reed Boardall Group seeks an experienced HGV Fitter/Trailer Technician to service, maintain and repair our refrigerated trailer fleet. You will perform PMI inspections to DVSA standards and diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and refrigeration faults.

A full UK driving licence is required, with HGV CE a plus. The role offers a nights-based 4 on/4 off shift in a modern, well-equipped workshop with on-site parking and a strong focus on safety and accuracy with our fleet management system.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV fitter or trailer technician.
• Direct experience with transport refrigeration units is preferred.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and hydraulic trailer systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair routine servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on HGV trailers, focusing on refrigerated units.
• Conduct PMI inspections to DVSA standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and refrigeration faults.
• Prepare trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass.
• Complete all job cards, service sheets, and maintenance records using the fleet management system.
