Job summary

First Military Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled HGV Engineer in Droitwich to join a dynamic team. The role covers routine maintenance and repairs on DAF and Mercedes trucks, with a varied shift pattern, overtime, and on-call duties.

The ideal candidate is time-served or qualified, experienced in HGV mechanics, and capable of working both independently and within a team while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Time-served or fully qualified HGV Engineer.
• Experience working on DAF and Mercedes trucks.
• Strong knowledge of HGV mechanics, electrical systems and diagnostics.
• Full driving license (Category C or CE preferred).
• Willingness to participate in shift work, overtime and on-call duties (1 in 4 weeks).
• Good communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on DAF and Mercedes trucks, ensuring safety and performance standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with HGVs.
• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance as required.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Work efficiently within a team and communicate with colleagues and management.
• Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
• Assist with parts and stock management to ensure timely repairs.
• Participate in the on-call rota to provide 24/7 fleet coverage.
• Perform overtime on Saturdays when on PM shift, paid at overtime rate.
