Job summary

We Are Workforce Ltd in Market Drayton is seeking an experienced HGV Driver Trainer (Class 1 C+E) to lead CPC and driver development training. The role includes delivering sessions, coaching on safe driving, and supporting on-route learning, with potential to assist with driving duties during peak periods.

The successful candidate will have a Class 1 licence (min 3 years), strong communication skills, and proven training experience, with a flexible, customer-focused approach and good English

Qualifications

• Hold a full and valid C+E Driving Licence for a minimum of 3 years.
• Previous experience in a Driver Trainer, Driver Assessor or similar training role.
• Ability to speak confidently in front of an audience and effectively communicate key information.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate colleagues.
• Confident delivering training sessions and presenting to groups of varying sizes, both in classroom and practical environments.
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Tachograph Legislation.
• Good understanding of the RTWTD.
• Willingness to deliver Driver CPC Training.
• Good level of written and spoken English.
• Basic computer skills.
• Professional and customer-focused approach.
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance record.
• Flexible and adaptable to meet business requirements.
• Commitment to continuous personal development and training.
• Promote and support best practice throughout the business.

Responsibilities

• Conduct driving assessments for new and existing drivers.
• Deliver Driver CPC and other driver development training.
• Present training materials and facilitate group learning sessions.
• Support on-route learning and delivery point familiarisation.
• Monitor tachograph infringements and provide coaching where required.
• Deliver coaching on safe driving, accident prevention and fuel efficiency.
• Mentor Warehouse to Wheels and other trainee drivers.
• Assist with general driving duties and deliveries when required.

Job description

HGV Driver Trainer - Market Drayton

Excellent opportunity to utilise your driving expertise and training skills.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced C+E Driver Trainer based at ourMarket Drayton site. This role offers a 5-on, 2-off shift pattern working for one of the UK's largest transport and logistics groups.

As part of the role, you may be required to work as a Class 1 Driver during peak operational periods, including Christmas and summer holidays. Therefore, a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence is essential.

Shift Pattern

• Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday start between 04:00am - 06:00am

Driver Trainer Pay Rates

Days

• Monday to Friday: £17.30 per hour
• Overtime after 47.5 hours: £19.46 per hour
• Saturday: £19.46 per hour
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £25.95 per hour

Nights

• Monday to Friday: £19.77 per hour
• Overtime after 47.5 hours: £21.92 per hour
• Saturday: £21.92 per hour
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £28.41 per hour

Only a 30-minute break deducted per shift.
£40 weekly uplift

Knowledge & Experience Required
