Hawk 3 Talent Solutions invites applications for an LGV Driver Trainer based at our Trafford Park, Manchester depot. The role focuses on mentoring drivers, delivering on-the-road coaching and classroom sessions to support Driver CPC training under our JAUPT-approved scheme.

You will collaborate with the Driver Administrator, adapt to varied shift patterns, and provide practical instruction in defensive driving, fuel efficiency, and safe handling of containers and trailers.

Qualifications

• Proven history as a highly experienced HGV1 (Class 1) driver.
• Experience in a driver trainer or instructional role is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of container transport and distribution operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use electronic reporting platforms with ease.

Responsibilities

• On-the-road assessments and in-cab coaching to promote best practices.
• Coaching defensively, improving fuel efficiency, and safe vehicle operations.

Are you an experienced HGV1 driver with a passion for mentoring and safety?

We are looking for a highly skilled LGV Driver Trainer to join our dedicated team based at our Trafford Park, Manchester depot. In this vital role, you will work closely with the Driver Administrator to deliver exceptional driver training and play a key part in fulfilling our commitment to Driver CPC under our JAUPT-approved training scheme.

The role demands flexibility to coordinate seamlessly with driver workloads. You will deliver both one-on-one "on the road" coaching and interactive, classroom-based courses for larger groups.

Key Responsibilities

• On-the-Road Assessments: Assess drivers and provide practical, in-cab instruction to ensure the continuous adoption of best practices.
• Core Skills Coaching: Train drivers in defensive driving techniques, fuel economy optimization, and the correct, safe use of vehicles and trailers.
• Classroom Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging classroom-based courses for larger groups, specifically focusing on our JAUPT-approved Driver CPC curriculum.
• Compliance & Reporting: Complete detailed, confidential electronic training reports.
• Operational Knowledge: Utilize your working knowledge of container transport and distribution operations to deliver highly relevant, industry-specific training.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Proven history as a highly experienced HGV1 (Class 1) driver. Previous experience in a driver trainer or instructional role is a distinct advantage.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid, practical understanding of container transport and distribution operations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. You must be able to clearly assess a driver's needs, give constructive feedback, and build trust.
• IT Literacy: Tech-savvy enough to handle electronic reporting platforms comfortably (training on specific in-house software will be provided).
• Flexibility: A flexible approach to working hours to align with varied driver shift patterns and operational workloads.
