Irlam Associates are recruiting an HGV Driver Trainer for their Colchester site. The role involves training and assessing drivers, delivering CPC instruction and ensuring compliance with drivers' hours and FORS requirements.

Based in Colchester, the position includes occasional transport planning duties and the opportunity to coach drivers to operate safely and efficiently within transport regulations.

Qualifications

• A Class 1 driving licence.
• An instructor's licence and approved Driver CPC trainer status.
• Previous experience as a Driver Trainer, Assessor or Instructor, including completing driver assessments.
• Strong knowledge of driver regulations, drivers' hours and Working Time requirements.
• Experience preparing documentation and training records for audits, including FORS.
• Experience using telematics and transport systems such as TruTac, Microlise or HaulTech.

Responsabilités

• Complete driver assessments and provide ongoing coaching and development.
• Deliver Driver CPC training and maintain records to ensure drivers complete their required hours before expiry.
• Monitor drivers' hours and Working Time compliance, providing additional training where required.
• Use telematics systems to review driving behaviour, investigate infringements and conduct driver debriefs.
• Support HR with driver inductions, covering health and safety and safe working practices.
• Prepare and maintain training and compliance documentation for internal and external audits, including FORS.
• Analyse driver performance and incident trends, providing accurate reports to the Group Compliance Department.
• Assist with transport planning when required.

HGV Driver Trainer - Colchester

Salary: £40,000 per annum

Working days: Monday-Friday

Location: Colchester

Irlam Associates are recruiting an HGV Driver Trainer on behalf of an established UK third-party logistics (3PL) provider, based at their Colchester site.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Driver Trainer or Assessor to support drivers through ongoing assessments, training and coaching, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently and in line with transport regulations.

The role also includes occasional transport planning duties, depending on business needs.

Key responsibilities:

• Complete driver assessments and provide ongoing coaching and development.


• Deliver Driver CPC training and maintain accurate records to ensure drivers complete their required hours before expiry.


• Monitor drivers' hours and Working Time compliance, providing additional training where required.
