Job summary

The NWH Group is seeking a Class 2 HGV Skip Driver in Newcastle. You will operate skip lift vehicles, load and transport skips, and maintain daily vehicle checks while upholding safety standards and delivering excellent service.

We offer overtime, weekly pay, and ongoing training with career progression, plus uniforms and PPE. A valid Class 2 licence, CPC, and good attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Full Class 2 HGV licence (Category C).
• No more than 6 points on licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Positive attitude and commitment to high standards.
• Waste/recycling driving experience preferred but training provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate skip lift vehicles on scheduled routes.
• Load, unload, and transport skips and containers.
• Conduct daily safety and vehicle checks; maintain logs.
• Follow road safety laws and company policies.
• Provide excellent customer service at collection/delivery points.

Role: Class 2 HGV Driver- Skips

Location: Newcastle

Hours: 40-50 hours per week with overtime options available

Rate of Pay: £14.46 per hour

Overtime Rate of Pay: £21.69 per hour

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Class 2 HGV Skip Driver, you will play a key role in our operations by:

• Safely operating skip lift vehicles on scheduled routes

• Loading, unloading, and transporting skips and containers

• Conducting daily safety and vehicle checks; keeping vehicle logs updated

• Following road safety laws and company policies at all times

• Delivering excellent customer service at collection/delivery points

What Are We Looking For?

• A full, valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence.

• No more than 6 points on your licence

• Valid CPC and Digital Tacho Card.

• A great attitude and commitment to performing the job to the highest standard.

• Previous waste/recycling driving experience is preferred, but not essential -we provide comprehensive training.
