The Ashcourt Group is seeking an experienced HGV Driver to join our Skip Wagon fleet at Thompsons of Prudhoe. You will work a 40-hour week with overtime paid for hours over 45, and earn an hourly rate with additional overtime compensation.

We require a valid HGV Cat C licence, a tachograph card, and at least 1 year of HGV/Skip Wagon driving experience, with a clean licence (max 6 points) and right to work in the UK.

• Operate HGV Cat C vehicles following all driving and traffic laws.

• Complete proof of deliveries on a tablet and maintain safety protocols.
• Follow traffic reports and adapt routes as necessary.
• Support scheduling and route planning with the team.

£14.25 per hour + Overtime paid at £21.375 (Average earnings over £32,000)

We are expanding our team and are currently hiring drivers to join our Skip Wagon fleet.

As an HGV Driver at Thompsons of Prudhoe, you will be contracted to work 40 hours per week. Overtime is paid at a rate of £21.38 per hour for any hours worked beyond the first 45 hours.

Key responsibilities

• To operate HGV Cat C vehicles, following all HGV driver & traffic laws
• To operate the vehicle safely and professionally
• To drive long or short distances as required
• To help plan schedules & routes with your line manager
• To follow traffic reports and adapt routes as necessary
• To conduct accurate & thorough pre-use defect/cleanliness inspections of your vehicle
• To complete proof of deliveries on a tablet
• To ensure that the vehicle cab is kept in a clean & tidy condition

As a Driver at Ashcourt, you will have

• A valid HGV Cat C licence
• A tachograph card
• A minimum of 1 year's experience as an HGV/Skip Wagon driver
• A maximum of 6 points on your licence
• A valid right to work in the UK
