Job summary

Ipsum Utilities Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Driver & Operator to join our Newport team. You’ll operate jetting units for drainage maintenance, perform CCTV surveys, and respond to both planned and reactive work with safety and precision.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence.
• High Pressure Water Jetting certification.
• Confined Space Entry certification.
• Previous experience in drainage maintenance and jetting operations.
• Familiarity with CCTV survey equipment & software.
• Strong understanding of health & safety practices.
• Good problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV jetting units to perform drainage cleaning and maintenance.
• Respond to emergency callouts and support planned maintenance.
• Conduct CCTV drainage surveys to identify defects.
• Report findings and propose solutions to customers, clients and colleagues.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Carry out routine vehicle and equipment checks.

Hours: Monday – Friday with overtime opportunities available

We’re looking for an experienced HGV Driver & Operator to join our growing Newportteam!

You’ll play a key role in delivering essential drainage maintenance services that help keep communities and infrastructure running smoothly. Working with our specialist jetting equipment, you’ll be carrying out drainage maintenance, CCTV surveys and responding to both planned and reactive works.

What you’ll be doing

• Operating HGV jetting units to carry out drainage cleaning and maintenance activities
• Responding to emergency callouts and supporting planned maintenance activity
• Conducting CCTV drainage surveys to identify defects
• Working closely with customers, clients and colleagues to report findings and recommend solutions
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company and industry standards
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used
• Carrying out routing vehicle and equipment checks

What we’re looking for:

• A valid HGV Class 2 (Cat C) Licence
• High Pressure Water Jetting certification
• Confined Space Entry certification
• Previous experience in drainage maintenance and jetting operations
