Job summary

Ipsum Utilities Limited is seeking a professional HGV Driver in Eastbourne, UK to operate a range of specialist vehicles including vacuum tankers and jetting equipment across commercial, residential, industrial, rail, and road sectors.

You will perform cleaning, desilting, root cutting and waste collection while maintaining health, safety and customer service standards. Eligible candidates have a clean HGV licence, CPC, and drainage experience, with a 24/7 flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Clean HGV driving licence.
• Driver CPC certification.
• Experience in drainage industry preferred.
• Desirable: NRSWA, confined space, water jetting certifications.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate HGV suction/jetting equipment daily.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and enviro standards.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Report site incidents to Supervisor.
• Build relationships with customers and resolve issues.
• Work flexibly in a 24/7 operation, with travel as required.

Working Hours:Monday to Friday (with flexibility for early starts, weekends/bank holidays paid at double time and out-of-hours work paid at time and a half!)

Salary: £35,000.00 annual salary ,with on track earning potential of £50,000.00 per year! Salary Increases to £37,100.00 after first year of service then £40,000.00 after two years in the role!

About the role…

As an HGV Driver, you will operate a range of specialist vehicles including vacuum tankers, combination units, road sweepers, crane and grab units, and high-pressure jetting equipment.

You will work as part of a team delivering services across a variety of sectors including commercial, residential, industrial, rail, road, air and utilities. Your responsibilities will include cleaning, desilting, root cutting, liquid waste and hazardous waste collection, and road cleansing.

You will…

• Drive and operate HGV suction and jetting equipment on a day-to-day basis
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety, quality and environmental standards
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures
• Report all site-related incidents to your Supervisor
• Identify and resolve issues quickly to prevent escalation
• Contribute to delivering high-quality results, reports and feedback
• Build strong relationships with customers and resolve issues effectively
• Work flexibly as part of a 24/7 operation, including early starts, weekends and UK travel when required

About you…

We are looking for a professional and reliable HGV Driver with a strong focus on safety, quality and customer service.

• Clean HGV Driving Licence
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
• Experience within the drainage industry preferred
• NRSWA Streetworks, Confined Space and High-Pressure Water Jetting certifications desirable
• Manual Handling and First Aid at Work certification desirable
• CSCS card and Fit to Work status desirable
• DBS Enhanced Check desirable
• Water Hygiene and Reverse Assist experience desirable
• Experience in a customer-focused environment
• Strong understanding of health and safety practices
• Knowledge of waste network operations
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Flexible and positive approach to work
