Job summary

DPD Ipswich is hiring a reliable HGV Driver to join our modern fleet and keep the country moving.

You will work Monday to Friday, typically 14:00–03:15, with a pay of £16.35 per hour plus £2.72 night rate and enhanced overtime.

Expect training, CPC renewals funded, life assurance and health wellbeing perks, and opportunities to grow within a people-first logistics business. You will handle nationwide collections and ensure safety using GPS and tachographs.

Qualifications

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• The Experience: At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• The Skillset: Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a 'safety-first' mindset.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country. Professional, resourceful, and reliable.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.
