Job summary

DPD Group UK in Cardiff is seeking a reliable HGV Driver to join our national transport team, driving a modern fleet and keeping the country moving.

You’ll be a key player in our nationwide operations, executing collections and deliveries, managing trailer swaps, and using GPS and digital tachographs to stay compliant and efficient.

Competitive pay: £16.35 per hour base plus £2.72 per hour night premium (18:00–06:00) with enhanced overtime, alongside perks and a wellbeing package.

Qualifications

• The License: Valid UK Class 1 (Category CE) Licence, CPC Card, and Digital Tachograph Card.
• The Experience: At least 6 months experience handling Class 1 vehicles.
• The Skillset: Excellent geographical knowledge of UK roads and a “safety-first” mindset.
• The Vibe: You’re a resourceful problem-solver who can work under pressure and hit deadlines whilst delivering great service.

Responsibilities

• Execute nationwide collections and deliveries, focusing on HGV-friendly locations.
• Manage trailer swaps and oversee live loading/unloading to keep the network moving.
• Use GPS and digital tachographs to manage your route and remain 100% compliant.
• Maintain professional relations with dispatchers and customers across the country. Professional, resourceful, and reliable.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and prioritise safe driving in all conditions.
