Job summary

Lineage is seeking a HGV Driver Mentor/Assessor at our Belle Eau Park Facility near Bilsthorpe, Nottinghamshire. You will support the Transport Manager with driver assessments, ensuring competency with vehicles, equipment, and depot procedures.

The role includes flexible hours, occasional nights and weekends, and a 24/7 operation. Training completes with an uplift of £30 per week; base pay is £16.23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified HGV Class 1 driver with a valid CPC.
• Clean driving licence.
• Excellent Tachograph Infringement record.
• Excellent incident record.
• Experience of mentoring advantageous.
• Able to demonstrate good driving techniques.
• Able to direct and advise drivers on best practice.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, driver compliance and documentation completion.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience of administration using basic Microsoft packages would be ideal.

Responsibilities

• Drive a HGV vehicle ensuring completion of all daily driving functions in line with H&S and company procedures.
• Assist with new driver interview assessments.
• Carry out on the road employment and annual driver assessments.
• Carry out post-incident assessments as required.
• Mentor new drivers on-road with vehicle, trailer, and equipment familiarisation.
• Familiarise with new equipment and ensure tachograph compliance.
• Complete assessment reports for onboarding or retraining.

Job description

We are looking to recruit a HGV Driver Mentor/Assessor at our Belle Eau Park Facility located near Bilsthorpe in Nottinghamshire, to support Transport Manager with employment and annual assessments.

The Mentor/Assessor will ensure that all new drivers are competent and are fully familiar with vehicles, equipment, and depot procedures. Hours of work in this role will vary dependant on training duties required. This site is a 24/7 operation.

Shift Available:

Normal working hours will be Monday – Friday on Days, but this role will require someone flexible to work earlier and later starts as and when needed, there will also be a requirement to do some nights and weekend work on occasions.

Rate of pay:

£16.23 per hour, there will also be an uplift of £30.00 per week once training for this role is complete.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To drive a HGV vehicle ensuring the completion of all daily driving functions, safely and accurately in compliancewith the company H&S procedures and Working Procedures.
• To assist with new driver interview assessments.
• To carry out on the road employment and annual driver assessments.
• Carry out post incident assessments (as required).
• Mentor new drivers on-road with vehicle, trailer, and equipment familiarisation. To include all current transportprocedures.
• Carry out any required familiarisation on new equipment (vehicles/ trailers tail-lifts etc.).
• To ensure drivers are familiar with tachograph compliance and usage.
• Complete assessment reports for completion of assessments and onboarding, or re-training.

• Must be a qualified HGV Class 1 driver with a valid CPC.

• A regular top scorer on performance telematics.
• Able to direct and advise drivers on best practice.

• Experience of administration using basic Microsoft packages would be ideal.
• Able to effectively communicate suggestions and improvements to the driver and advise the Transport Management.
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Conscientious and reliable.
