Job summary

Lineage Logistics is recruiting a HGV Class 1 driver with Class 2 driving experience for our Gillingham depot in the United Kingdom. The role involves multi-drop deliveries, daily vehicle checks, and adherence to tachograph and safety regulations.

The position offers a Monday–Friday day shift with a base hourly rate of £16.19 for up to 39 hours per week and overtime at time-and-a-half beyond 39 hours.

Qualifications

• At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience with a valid Class 1 license.
• Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC.

Responsibilities

• Drive Class 1 and Class 2 vehicles as part of role.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Perform multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
• Operate tail lift and PPT when required.
• Ensure loading is secure and goods are verified with customers.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 driver who also has experience of driving class 2 vehicles to join our team located at our Gillingham depot.

Shift Pattern:

Monday - Friday working on Days

Hourly Rate:

£16.19 per hour for all hours worked up to 39 hours each week.

Overtime after 39 hours worked each week, is paid at time and a half.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support and assist the Transport Managers to ensure all functions of the operation is running smoothly and efficiently.
• You will be required to drive class 1 and class 2 vehicles as part of your role.
• Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy - all daily checks are completed in line with the Daily Vehicle Check Sheet' and in line with the 'Guide to maintaining road worthiness'. To ensure any vehicle defects are reported.
• Carry out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
• Complete manual and pallet pump truck work with certain drop offs.
• Drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law.
• Drive within tachograph law and driver hour limits.
• Ensure the correct goods have been loaded and are secure before moving the vehicle.
• Check goods off with Customers and obtain signature and print.
• Be aware of the vehicle inspection rota for servicing and MOT and bring to the Transport Manager's attention if necessary.
• To ensure that your DCPC periodic training hours are maintained and completed within the five-year period.

What are we looking for?

• At least 12 months Class 1 driving experience & Valid Class 1 license.
• Full valid Driving Licence and Digi-Tacho holder, DQC card holder and Driver CPC.
• Good driving skills and knowledge of current Road Transport Regulations and someone who is comfortable with working night shifts.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Numerical, and focused on accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to operate tail lift and PPT when required.
