Job summary

Thanet District Council is seeking a Refuse Driver/Loader to join its Cleansing Services team in the Thanet area. You will collect refuse, recyclables and green waste for residents, working five days a week (Mon-Fri) with 37 hours and a competitive wage. Full Class 2 licence, CPC, and Tacho card are essential, plus leadership skills and fleet knowledge.

Thanet District Council is currently recruiting for a Refuse Driver/Loader to join its Cleansing Services department. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for collecting refuse, recyclables and green waste throughout Thanet - providing an important and highly visible service to residents on behalf of the council. This is an excellent opportunity for a hard working individual to join one of the council's key service areas. This role is working 5 days a week, Monday - Friday.

Essential requirements

• Successful applicants must hold a full and current Class 2 driving licence, have passed their CPC qualification and have a valid Tacho drivers card.
• Applicants will also be expected to demonstrate strong team leadership skills and have extensive knowledge of operating waste collection vehicles and other associated equipment.
• The role will require a certain level of fitness as large periods of time will be spent collecting and returning residents' bins to and from their property.
